Janes Walk Page
Jane’s Walk is a global event held annually the first weekend in May. It honors Jane Jacobs, an urban activist who lived for many years in New York and is remembered for her book The Death and Life of Great American Cities. A Jane’s Walk is a free stroll through a city neighborhood.
As part of the event, Laurie and Alan will be leading a walk through the northern part of Central Park. This portion of the park has some of the city’s greatest landscapes and an interesting history. View the changing skyline as you walk along the Reservoir. Leave the hustle and bustle of the city when you visit the tranquil Pool and enjoy a hike in the recently restored North Woods. Go back in time to the site of early American military fortifications. End at Conservatory Garden, ablaze with spring blooms. Moderate pace; some stairs.
