This was a great walking tour. Our guide, Alan, was very knowledgeable about the origins and history of the Park and had a great sense of humour! The tour is marked for 2 hours but ours stretched to almost 3 hours! Loved it!

A dozen members of my family met in NYC for a weekend reunion. We booked several tours with Take a Walk New York. Laurie was our tour guide. She provided an engaging narrative of facts and stories along the way. The first day she even met us at our hotel and took us to the subway to make sure we knew how to use it! During the tours, each lasting several hours, she included some time to rest in a shady spot! Laurie is really flexible about customizing a tour to meet the needs and interests of the group. It was a fun weekend.

Alan was a wonderful guide. His knowledge of the park was incredible. We learned so much and left eager for more. What a great day.

I went on a wonderful walking tour of the mansions of Fifth Avenue with Laurie Lewis from Take a Walk New York. Laurie showed us 100-year-old mansions and told us stories of the rich and powerful people who lived in these homes. She made the tour fun and informative.

This is a great tour of the history of Central Park and of many beautiful sights people don't find by themselves. Our tour guide- Alan Cohen was a remarkable wealth of information about the history of our great city. He has a delightful personality and had many charming stories to share about the park and overall NY. Great tour -- GREAT guide !! Do it !

Laurie Lewis, a tour guide with Take a Walk New York, led my family on a delightful walk through charming West Village streets. We learned where some famous writers lived. She introduced us to culinary classics in the West Village and, of course, we stopped to taste some delicious local foods.

Alan was a wonderful walking tour guide -- his tour was thoughtful because half-way through the tour, he arranged to be at the Fulton Street subway station with available toilets.

Laurie took my husband and me on a wonderful discovery walk of Central Park, away from the tourist crowds. We were shown little-known areas of the northern part of the park that were quiet and lovely. Laurie gave us detailed information about the history of the park. We also engaged Laurie to take us on another tour of Greenwich Village. She tailored the tour to our desire to know more about the history of the area and specifically to my husband’s interest in Bob Dylan, who lived and played there. We enjoyed both tours and highly recommend Laurie as a guide based on her vast knowledge and obvious passion for the city.

We had a wonderful time with Laurie. She was full of information and anecdotes about Central Park. We lost track of time as we meandered and chatted our way through the beautiful northern part of the park. It's so calm and peaceful that at times you forget you are in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world.

Excellent theme, knowledgeable and personable guide, Alan, made this family event special. Even though we all live in NY area, didn't know all the interesting and fascinating things that Alan showed us. The highlight was seeing and learning about the 4 statues near Wall St. that depicted propaganda concerning America's perception of the four continents.

What a great private family tour -- thank you! Our guide, Alan, was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible. His information and stories were interesting, informative, and easy to follow, including the visuals he brought. He was flexible, going a few extra blocks to show us some points of interest that we asked about. He even emailed us later that day with additional information that he looked up, based on some questions that we had! You will be a lucky group to get Alan as your guide.
